Tokyo’s Nine Garden Autumn Stamp Rally 2026: Heritage Gardens in Fall

1 min read

A paper stamp rally links nine historic Tokyo gardens during the autumn foliage season, creating an easy framework for slower, multi-day exploration.

Date and time

October 10–December 6, 2026. Garden hours are normally 09:00–17:00, with last admission at 16:30. The rally also operates during announced evening openings.

Location

Hamarikyu, Kyu-Shiba-rikyu, Koishikawa Korakuen, Rikugien, Kyu-Iwasaki-tei, Mukojima-Hyakkaen, Kiyosumi, Kyu-Furukawa and Tonogayato gardens. Useful stations include Shiodome, Hamamatsucho, Iidabashi, Komagome, Yushima, Higashi-mukojima, Kiyosumi-shirakawa, Kami-nakazato and Kokubunji.

Highlights

Each garden has its own illustrated stamp. Three stamps earn a garden postcard while supplies last; five unlock a calendar discount, and seven or nine qualify for additional prizes or draws. More importantly, the route reveals contrasting Edo-period landscapes, villa architecture and neighborhood settings.

Booking and admission

No advance booking is required. Collect one free paper rally sheet at a participating garden; distribution ends when supplies run out. Regular garden admission applies, generally ¥150–¥400 per adult. Postal entry costs for prize drawings are separate.

How it fits a Tokyo itinerary

Do not attempt all nine in one day. Build compact pairings such as Hamarikyu with Kyu-Shiba-rikyu, Koishikawa Korakuen with Rikugien, or Kiyosumi with Mukojima-Hyakkaen. Tonogayato works well as a separate western Tokyo stop.
