Roof Park Art Fes 2026: Night Art on Tokyo’s Former Expressway
Tokyo’s former KK expressway becomes a nighttime art venue for the first Roof Park Art Fes, offering a rare walk above Ginza after dark.
Date and time
November 21–29, 2026, 17:00–20:30; last entry 20:00. Special performances take place November 28 and 29, with doors at 18:30 and a 50-minute show from 19:00.
Location
Former Tokyo Expressway (KK Line). The installation entrance is Nishi-Ginza, 1-2-2 Ginza, near Ginza-itchome, Kyobashi and Yurakucho stations. Special performances use the Shimbashi entrance.
Highlights
YOSHIROTTEN transforms the elevated road with archival images, city light and an artwork about 40 metres long. On the final weekend, Setouchi Circus Factory presents a moving contemporary-circus work inspired by the lost Shiodome River and the timber trade once carried through this area.
Booking and admission
Timed tickets are required and sold first-come from October 16 at 14:00 through the official site’s designated external ticket service. Installation admission for high-school age and above is ¥800 on weekdays and ¥1,000 on weekends and the holiday. Tickets including the special performance are ¥1,500.
How it fits a Tokyo itinerary
Allow around 60–90 minutes and combine it with Ginza, Marunouchi or Shimbashi. The unusual elevated setting makes it especially suitable for travelers interested in architecture, urban renewal and contemporary art.
