A newly announced exhibition at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum brings six Japanese and Chinese artists into dialogue through contemporary photography and moving image.
Date and time
September 30, 2026–January 17, 2027. Open 10:00–18:00; Thursdays and Fridays until 20:00. Last admission is 30 minutes before closing. Closed Mondays, or the following weekday when Monday is a holiday, plus December 28–January 1.
Location
Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, 2F Exhibition Gallery, Yebisu Garden Place, 1-13-3 Mita, Meguro. Ebisu Station is the most useful access point.
Highlights
The show pairs work by six contemporary Japanese and Chinese artists across photography and video. Four participating Chinese artists are being presented at a Japanese public museum for the first time. An October 3 symposium includes Chinese–Japanese consecutive interpretation; curator talks are scheduled for October 16, November 20 and December 18.
Booking and admission
No advance reservation has been announced for the exhibition; regular museum admission applies. Admission is free on October 1 and January 2–3. The October 3 symposium is free, with numbered tickets distributed from 10:00 at the museum’s 1F reception; capacity is 190.

A strong fit for contemporary-art, photography and Chinese-speaking cultural travelers. Pair it with Yebisu Garden Place, Daikanyama or Shibuya; the late Thursday and Friday hours also make it easy to add after daytime sightseeing.
