1 min read

A compact daimyo garden beside Hamamatsucho becomes a stage for three forms of traditional street entertainment, pairing Edo-period performance with autumn garden scenery.

Date and time

October 31–November 3, 2026, 09:00–17:00; last admission 16:30. Edo daikagura is performed October 31 at 11:30, 13:15 and 14:30; Edo spinning-top acrobatics on November 1 at 11:30 and 13:15; and Odawara festival music on November 3 at 11:30 and 13:30.

Location

Kyu-Shiba-rikyu Gardens, 1-4-1 Kaigan, Minato City. The entrance is one minute on foot from JR Hamamatsucho Station North Exit, three minutes from Daimon Station B2 Exit, or ten minutes from Takeshiba Station.

Highlights

See 400-year-old Edo daikagura juggling and balancing, agile kyokugoma spinning-top tricks, and Odawara bayashi designated as Kanagawa intangible folk culture. Volunteer garden tours start at 14:00 on October 31 and November 1, with craft displays and food stalls also scheduled.

Booking and admission

No advance booking is required. Performances and garden tours are free after admission: ¥150 adults and ¥70 for visitors aged 65 or over. Primary-school children and younger, plus Tokyo-resident or Tokyo-enrolled junior-high students, enter free. Outdoor programs may be cancelled in rain or strong wind.

How it fits a Tokyo itinerary

This is an easy cultural stop between Tokyo Station, Hamamatsucho and the Takeshiba waterfront. Allow 60–90 minutes, or combine it with Hama-rikyu, Tokyo Tower or a Tokyo Bay outing.
